Get file date from server

Dec 16, 2010 at 9:51 AM

Hi!

I think it would be a nice feature to get the movie filedate from the server, like "wget" would do, instead of using current date/time.

Cheers!

It would hae been really easy if the RSS feed set the publication date but it doesn't. The date only appears as part of the RSS comment field. I am looking to see how that adffects the code. Should have something shortly

I added this but I am second guessing whether or not it was worth it. THe RSS feed only has 20 entries. Usually all 20 entries are updated every 1-2 days so at most the error in the date would be one day.

Maybe i'm missing some points, in this case i apologize for my ignorance, but why not taking the timestamp when downloading the trailer, from the server from which the file is being downloaded? I was talking about this, i.e: the featurette from "The Boat That Rocked" [720p] <http://trailers.apple.com/movies/focus_features/pirateradio/pirateradio-clip1_h720p.mov>, is dated october 8, 2009 23:22...

Cheers!

I see what you mean now.  Will look at it.
